The Registration Process

Our registration process is simple, straightforward, and efficient. For online registrations, simply visit our Food Manager page and click on your state.  We accept all major credit or debit cards. To register offline for the ServSafe program in VA, you can call us at 855-857-7233 or email info@tscassociates.com. We will be happy to assist you.

Do I Need a Book?

While our classes provide detailed training and an enjoyable learning experience, we suggest you have a book for the course. The 7th edition ServSafe Managers Book has over 300 pages of important information and guidelines to follow regarding food safety. Having a book will help you retain more of the material we review in class and give you additional resources for future reference.

How Do I Get a Book? How Quickly Will It Be Delivered?

TSC Associates sells the ServSafe Food Managers book. All of our books are shipped via FedEx or UPS, and most orders arrive within two business days. 

What Is the Passing Score?

We are committed to providing our Virginia students with the best ServSafe training. Our experienced and knowledgeable instructors will guide you through the ServSafe course material, teaching you techniques to ensure that all food safety standards are known, and to equip you to pass the exam with a score of 70% or higher.

We also offer resources to help you prepare for the exams, such as practice tests and study guides.

Class Timings

Our ServSafe Food Manager classes are held from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Is this required in the state of Virginia?

Yes, the state of Virginia requires At least one employee with supervisory and management responsibility and the authority to direct and control food preparation and service shall be a certified food protection manager.

A. County and City Requirements:

  • Southampton County requires all food handlers to have food safety training. 2-year certification unless they score 100%, then it is valid for 3-years.
  • Isle of Wight County requires all food handlers to have food safety training. 2-year certification unless they score 100%, then it is valid for 3-years.
  • Suffolk City requires all food handlers to have food safety training. 2-year certification unless they score 100%, then it is valid for 3-years.
  • Virginia Beach City requires all food handlers to have food safety training. 2-year certification unless they score 100%, then it is valid for 3-years.
  • Port Smith City requires all food handlers to have food safety training. Valid for 3-years.
  • James City requires all food handlers to have food safety training.
  • Williamsburg City requires all food handlers to have food safety training.
  • York County requires all food handlers to have food safety training.
  • New Port News City requires all food handlers to have food safety training.
  • Hampton City requires all food handlers to have food safety training. Valid 2-years.
